Michelle is responsible for the overall management of the Lowcountry Housing Trust including implementing its strategic plan, developing annual work plans, overseeing financing and development services, facilitating community education programs, marketing LHT programs and securing funding for operations and financing. She has more than 20 years of experience in program management.
Michelle holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the College of Charleston; a Master of Engineering Management degree from George Washington University; and a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Clemson University. She is certified by the National Development Council as a Housing Development Finance Professional.
Patrick is responsible for marketing and deploying LHT loans to affordable housing developers, including underwriting and loan recommendations, portfolio management and reporting, and loan capital management. He has more than 20 years of experience with a diverse array of financing mechanisms for small business and community development programs.
Patrick has a master of arts degree in management and an undergraduate degree in business administration. He is certified by the National Development Council as an Economic Development Finance Professional.
Suzanne is responsible for ensuring the Lowcountry Housing Trust’s financial health and viability, as well as maintaining compliance with all funding partners and investor terms, conditions and legal requirements.
She has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience. At her last position in the real estate group at Wells Fargo, Suzanne underwrote commercial real estate loans and served as relationship manager. She managed a portfolio of more than $300 million in commercial real estate loans. Suzanne has a bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
Debby provides technical assistance to developers, non-profits, and municipalities on housing finance programs; develops and provides multi-tiered community trainings for new and experienced developers, as well as non-profit capacity building; and creates lending opportunities through community development education.
Debby has more than 20 years of experience working with affordable housing and community development in Charleston. She is a founding board member of the Lowcountry Housing Trust, serving as chair of the Mayor's Council on Homelessness and Affordable Housing which created LHT in 2004. Debby has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Charleston and received her master’s degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. She is a certified grants specialist from the National Association of Grant Writers.
Karen is responsible for developing and implementing LHT's communications plan, including print and broadcast media, web and social media, and publications. She also serves as LHT's grant writer, a position she has held for six years.
Karen has a master's degree from Auburn University and has more than 10 years of experience with grant writing, public relations and communications.
Alice is responsible for fund accounting, bookkeeping, loan servicing, community impact tracking and compliance monitoring. She has more than 10 years of bookkeeping experience and uses these skills to analyze periodic financial reports and assess progress towards financial goals.
Alice has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Strayer University and holds professional certificates in bookkeeping, professional accountancy, microcomputer business applications and Quickbooks Pro.
Program Manager, Beaufort
Shirley is responsible for structuring, analyzing, closing and monitoring loans, as well as providing organizations with technical assistance in the City of Beaufort and Town of Port Royal. She has more than 20 years of experience working in affordable housing and community development with an extensive background in housing program development, marketing and foreclosure prevention.
Shirley has a bachelor’s degree from the University of the District of Columbia and is a Master in Public Administration degree candidate from the University of Maryland. She is also a certified housing counselor.
Anna is responsible for healthy food financing and community development initiatives. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the College of Charleston and received her masters degree in social work from the University of South Carolina. She currently serves as president of the board of the directors for the Lowcountry Homeless Coalition; Anna is also the chair of the local Emergency Food and Shelter board.
Chiara is responsible for tracking, developing, and managing financial correspondences for LHT. She has more than 10 years of experience working for non-profit organizations and educational institutions, and is currently enrolled at Trident Technical College.
